Guadeloupe 2019

Guadeloupe April 27-May 6, 2019

We celebrated out 28th anniversary a little late in Guadeloupe and we loved EVERY minute.

We flew American Airlines with a layover in Miami.. we were upgraded to first class on our second leg which was terrific...

We stayed at a WONDERFUL house with great views in Deshaies

Guadeloupe is a big island and we drove as much of it as we could...   It is so hard to share everything but here are a few highlights through photos :)

We did a day trip to Terre-de-haut ...  we stayed about 4 hours and decided to take the ferry back early due to the weather...  ferry ride home was pretty rough... but we made it :)

Hiking in Guadeloupe is amazing... we loved all the waterfalls..

They were setting up to start filming Death in Paradise a couple days before we left

Hope to see you again Guadeloupe

Bonaire 2018

Bonaire
 December 8-16, 2018

Merry Christmas to us... FINALLY vacation..  it had been a bit since our last one and we were more than ready!!

Bonaire is my kind of place... the airport is named Flamingo Airport..  need I say more.  I LOVE flamingos and the island did not disappoint!  Needless to say we were on the lookout for them every time we were in the car!

We flew United, flights were uneventful

We rented our car for Budget at the airport!  We had no issues with them and would use them again!

When we landed it was already dark.... I was thinking this would be disappointing by this but at the same time they had all the roundabouts decorated with Christmas Decorations and lights... it was so pretty.

We stayed at the Sand Dollar Condominiums.  It was a great location, very quiet... shopping and restaurants within walking distance.
Laura was so wonderful and helpful... she is a great photographer and her photos are all in the room.  The balcony was our favorite!!!  It is screened in with a great view!!

There is also a dive shop next door and you can snorkel or dive right in front of the room.  You will need to get a license to snorkel.  I think they were $10 each

As far as sightseeing we did it all more than once.. we went to the Washington Slagbaai Nationl Park TWICE, entrance fee was $25 per person.

I loved all the houses and towns were decorated for Christmas (my favorite)  There were cruise ships in almost every day but other than a couple more tour buses it didn't seem that crowded.

The Salt Pier is very neat...and of course did I mention flamingos???

You HAVE to go to the Donkey Sanctuary...  I had so much fun!!

Bonaire is pretty...  very relaxing.. and a very friendly island...

Here are some of our favorite photos from the trip... I will go now.. I am off planning the next trip!!!
